Portraits. An affordable, timeless, enduring keepsake.
Most of my private commissions are seen only in the owners homes and as they are not widely known you wouldn’t know if I’ve captured them or not. So amongst these examples of my work there are quite a few faces that you will recognise and form your own opinion.
Whether people or pets I aim to capture the essence as well as a likeness.
HM The Queen
I received a commission by Cunard to paint a portrait of Her Majesty the Queen. I was so pleased the photos Cunard provided were taken outdoors giving such a sunny and spontaneous feeling. The next three and a half months spent in my studio capturing this image was one of the happiest experiences of my life. The painting is now sailing around the world in the Grand Lobby of Cunard’s flagship The Queen Mary II.

Navajo Indian Chief Frank Yellowhorse | Oil on Canvas 50x50cm
We came across Chief Yellowhorse at his trading post on Route 66 somewhere on the border of Nevada. He was the only person in the showroom that was packed with silver jewelry, knives, Navajo rugs and clothing. The minute I saw him I knew I wanted to paint his portrait.
